A small application to enable HiDPI on your monitor.

HiDPI is used on Apple's Retina Displays. It is the reason of the smooth view of Mac OS X on retina displays.

You can get it by this link.

We have been occupied with Sierra lately.

There are many issues with it as it is pretty new. USB problems (like 10.11.x), Core2Duo/Quad CPU computer incompatibilities, Broadcom WiFi support etc.. Some of these issues make it impossible to install retail. We are preparing iATKOS SR which includes the solutions for most.

No time frame, no ETA but we are close.

Last few days' requests will be processed very soon, sorry for inconvenience.

New revision iATKOS EC is ready! System version is 10.11.5 (Build 15F34).

- 10.11.5 revision iATKOS EC images will be sent to new requests from now on.
- Existing iATKOS EC users can request their new revision images by just filling and sending us iATKOS EC request form.

Last few days' requests will be processed tomorrow (GMT0) and they all will be .5 revision. Delay happened due to 10.11.5 revision..

Existing iATKOS EC users with skylake graphics will receive new revision without requesting.

Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, improved the support for Skylake Graphics. USB system is more stable and better with .4

>> We will soon release 10.11.4 revision of iATKOS EC.

Here is an example of a skylake desktop computer with Intel HD 530 Graphics:

Apple has released 10.11.3 update. Backup your important data before trying the update.

- To update your existing El Capitan installation to 10.11.3, use App Store to try the update rather than the full 1.47 GB dmg updater. This way, your computer will have more chance to survive after the update :)

>> Good news, iATKOS EC installations on Skylake computers can apply the update (by using App Store as mentioned above).

>> If you used "USB Port Patch A" package during installation, then you may lose some of your USB ports after update. Try re-installing iATKOS EC with "USB Port Patch B" package and then apply the update after installation.

>> Some computers which can not operate without "USB Port Patch A" should not apply the update. We will release 10.11.3 revision of iATKOS EC soon.

>> After updating, do not forget to delete AppleHDA.kext that came with the update.

>> After updating, as usual, NVIDIA Web Driver users will need to update it too.

- 1st priority of our operations is development, as it always had been. Team is trying to give you the best!

- 2nd priority is release requests with priority service and questions/help requests of priority service users.

- The 3rd one is release requests with default service.

- 4th one: Any kind of questions/help requests related to iATKOS M / Y / EC.

Due to our operation algorithm, especially in times of development from time to time, we may delay responding to your requests 2-3 days more except for the priority service. We'll get back to your requests and questions eventually, we do not miss even one of them. This is all for making a better release.

New revision iATKOS EC is good to go! System version is 10.11.2 (Build 15C50).

Fusion Drive installations are now supported by our upcoming El Capitan release iATKOS EC. Support is also added to our Yosemite release iATKOS Y. No additional user actions needed.

Fusion drive is Apple's implementation of hybrid drive. It is simply combining a Hard Disk Drive and an SSD (Solid State Disk) with the space of both drives combined. Creating a Fusion Drive Volume is just like creating a Software RAID Volume.

The operating system automatically manages the contents of the fusion drive so the most frequently accessed files, applications, documents, photos and other data are stored on the faster flash storage (SSD), while the infrequently used items move to or stay on the hard disk drive. Simply, 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD Fusion Drive Volume gives you 1.1TB SSD speed drive in usage.

You can easily create your Fusion drive by using terminal in 2 steps. We will also create a GUI application to make it user friendly (also for RAID operations for El Capitan).

Hi Folks,

We have been working on El Capitan for a while and we will release iATKOS EC if/when it is good to go. No time frame but so far it is fine.

As we test El Capitan, it feels good. It uses the processor wisely. Even if it looks like Yosemite (besides the beachball and the new Disk Utility toy :), it feels different. Graphical interface (GUI) runs flawless on multi-tasking, no trace during high CPU loads.

Current version is 10.11.1.

iATKOS Yosemite 10.10.5 revision is released.

- Mac OS X 10.10.5 Build 14F27 (Latest Yosemite version)
- Clover UEFI/Legacy bootloader v2.3 r3262
- Chameleon bootloader v2.3 r2757

Click here to request and download the latest revision iATKOS Y.

New revision 10.10.5 images will be sent to new iATKOS Y requests by default.

All of our existing iATKOS Y users can request new 10.10.5 revision for free.

iATKOS Y new revision basic description:

Clover UEFI/Legacy bootloader updated to v2.3k r3252.

Additional improvements for:
- ATI Graphics cards
- Intel Pentium/Celeron G/J series CPUs
- X58/X79/X99 chipset motherboards

Minor improvements for:
- Broadwell Core i/M CPU laptops
- Some problematic
laptop computers' booting processes which can only boot over USB3
- UEFI laptop booting
- Some other Clover legacy booting problems
- Network devices and some other drivers

We have added RAID Mode support for Intel SATA ports to iATKOS Y.

No need to set "SATA to AHCI mode" anymore, iATKOS Y can now work with both AHCI and RAID modes.

Edit: iATKOS EC also supports Intel SATA RAID Mode.

Here is the reason:

Some of (HP and Dell) laptop computers' Intel SATA mode is locked to RAID instead of AHCI. They do not have the setting in their BIOS menu. These computers can not install and run OS X easily. With iATKOS Y, they can.

Some people use Windows (yes they do) with Hardware RAID on Intel SATA ports with this RAID mode. They need to set their SATA back to AHCI mode every time they want/need to boot to OS X or install OS X. With iATKOS Y, they do not need to play with their SATA Mode anymore.

New revisions of releases will be sent by default to new donators.

Intel 8 and 9 series motherboard OSX86 (hackintosh) computers and hibernation:

Hibernation is a bit different than normal sleep. It is deep sleep which is the power independent sleep. That means even the power is down, your data is safe during deep sleep, just like a shutdown. The need for removing the power cable (ie. moving your desktop to elsewhere) or if the power source is not a UPS, then hibernate would be a secure way of sleep. You like it after you have it.

If you want to try, keep on reading:

>> Only for 8 and 9 series desktop computers.

>> Only for Clover UEFI

>> You should have a proper configured installation for normal sleep (sleep on RAM - S3 Sleep) if you want to try deep sleep.

-- (Not needed for iATKOS Y / M installations) Mount EFI partition and delete OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi from drivers64UEFI folder, unmount EFI partition and restart your computer.

-- Open Terminal and enter:

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 29

-- Click "Sleep" by Apple menu.

-- After it is fully down, press Power button.

-- It will start normally and you will see your hibernated volume on Clover boot screen (as in the screenshot)

-- Press enter. It will wake up from deep sleep and you will jump to login screen or to your desktop without Apple boot screen.

>> If fails, it will just go into restart loop. If so you will have to cancel hibernation by pressing space bar, then it will boot normally.

Enter this on Terminal to disable hibernation:

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0

>> For any kind of OSX86 computer with successful normal sleep:

If your computer goes into reboot loops after hours of normal sleep, cancel hibernate boot by clover space bar menu and apply these lines below after normal system boot. These changes will disable auto-hibernate after long sleep hours.

-- Open Terminal and enter:

sudo pmset -a standby 0

sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0

(These are applied on iATKOS M, iATKOS Y and iATKOS EC installations for our users not to lose data.)

Here is why you need to support us to get iATKOS M / iATKOS Y / iATKOS EC releases:

OSX86 is a collaborative project, so there are many developers working on this project to make it work. We of course give credits, we give support, we do not own any bits of software we did not create.

A simple explanation of what we do is trying to make it easier and comfortable for more range of computer models.

It is not just an installation method, it is the configuration software package that makes it possible which you might not achive by a retail installation easily. For some computers, retail installation even has no chance for success by its nature.

The word "retail" is used to refer original installation. We use original/untouched main systems on our releases and on top of this, our software shapes the installer for the target computer's basic hardware.

It is not only for newbies, it is also comfortable for advanced computer users. Firstly, we made it for ourselves and liked it, then it had gone far.

After some clowns around took the primitive stage of our software and added it to their lunch menu without giving credits, we have decided to close it up (after iATKOS ML2).

There are many people interested in the front-end part of this project resulting with shitty websites including any kind of so called "articles" with no valuable/usable knowledge by using our name just to increase the pageviews of their circus sites. So we keep on closing our software, no more public releases.

We do it, we like it, we spend time on it, we work on it, we have our server running 7/24 for your personal releases, we do help individually for years to over a few 100K people and intend to keep on doing. So we move on with your support. That is simply it.

It is only free for our previous donators whom donated for our public releases (before the date 9th of Feb. 2014).

We are happy to announce the ETA!

iATKOS Y will be released in 7 days..

The booked ones will be ready just before the release time.

Test results are fine, so we are getting close to release time friends..

I will be able to announce an ETA soon. Our ETAs are not weeks as you know, it is days, so I'll announce when it is close enough..

A little information about our upcoming Yosemite release:

- It is a 7.5GB hybrid multi-partition dmg image file. It is made for restoring to USB flash sticks/drives (minimum 8GB).

- You will be able to boot your iATKOS Y Installer USB media with Clover UEFI, Clover Legacy and Chameleon Legacy bootloaders of your choice and install them to your target computer.

- Main system and bootloader versions are being updated. You can see here for details.

- Advanced auto-detection and configuration system like our Mavericks release iATKOS M.

- RAID installation is fully supported and automated.

- Simply, iATKOS Y includes all of the features of iATKOS M, plus > Y has wider range of hardware support naturally, new system newer chipsets. Older hardware support is just like iATKOS M as we tested so far.

Details will be posted on iATKOS Y page. I'm sorry no ETA yet but we are close.

Hey all,

As most of you already know, I do not like shitty ads, spammy links and popup windows including the words "download", "free" etc. or some popup window asking you to "Clean your Mac" (!) or a special shitty offer only for you (!) etc.

These are all trash as you can guess and I don't think anyone likes them. Besides, I also do not like real ads on a page. From 2007 till now, never had any on my website/forum.

When I need something, I search for it and that's more than enough with the database on the internet that our species has already built.

Anyway, this post came out after I remember the quote as I saw it on some page.

Here it is:

Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need.

Do not forget to check your Junk folder of your e-mail account as well as your Inbox folder.

Some e-mail service providers might deliver our e-mail messages into your Junk/Spam folder instead of your Inbox folder.

This may happen due to our torrent file attachments or for some other reason.

As usual, we will not release the initial .0 version.

10.10.1 runs good so far. No more wifi/bt and some other annoying issues.

iATKOS Y will be 10.10.1 (for now)

About OS X Yosemite,

I do not recommend main system upgrades even for Apple Mac computers. They are so not like system updates which we directly apply on our iATKOS systems.

If you want to try Yosemite, whatever method you use, install clean.

BTW we are working on it. As you can guess no ETA yet..

This is a 3rd gen. Core i7 Mobile CPU (Ivy Bridge) + Intel HD 4000 Graphics example updated to 10.9.5.

This also applies to 4th gen. Core CPU + Intel HD 5000 Series Graphics (Haswell) which are HD 4200/4400/4600/5000/5100/5200.

After finding out the proper ig-platform-id for your hardware inside iATKOS M installation, it will work.

You may need to select Intel Activator and VBIOS patch during iATKOS M installation.

For Desktop rigs, make sure to try all of the onboard display output ports including the thunderbolt ones.

Mavericks software updates will not be problem for such systems.

For Desktop Intel HD 4000 systems, if the motherboard is a 6 series chipset model (H61, H67, P67 etc.), then software updates will cause problems.

To apply Mavericks software updates on such systems, follow the steps below:

- Rename AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext to AppleIntelFramebufferCapri2.kext
- Rename AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext to AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB2.kext
- Run Kext Utility and reboot.
- Apply the update (by using AppStore or dmg installer)
- Boot into single user mode (-s), delete AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext and AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext
(which came with the update) and reboot.

Single user mode commands for the operation above:
mount -uw /
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext
rm -R /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches

Applying little updates on Audio/Network/Clover options >>

Audio support added for Intel 9 Series motherboards and also VoodooHDA is updated to 2.8.6 version which has wider range of support for various chipsets.

Adding support for more models of Intel and Atheros wired ethernets.

ACPI Tables Dropping menu added as selectable package to iATKOS M installer. It is a "must" to drop some ACPI tables for some motherboards (even the very compatible ones like some P67's). Try them and find out your proper configuration by Clover boot menu if your system hangs on some points, then you can select them during install to easily make them permanent.
